Large grouping of cards from the 1934-36 Batter-Up issue, including many Hall of Famers and stars. One of the more interesting issues of the era, the 192-card set was produced by the National Chicle company, comprised of blank-backed photographic cards that were die cut so that young collectors could fold the top of the card down so that it could stand up on its own, revealing only the figure of the player portrayed on the card. This collection includes both low number and (smaller and more scarce) high numbers. Average grade is F-G, with a few better and some lesser, the die cut figure separated at the perforation in most cases, and most creased in the center where the cards were folded.
Collection includes the following: #1 (brown - 2), #1 (pink - 2), #5 Hubbell (blue), #11 (green), #16 Hafey (black), #18 (blue), #21 Vaughn (blue), #23 Gomez (black), #26 (pink), #43 (pink), #48 (Huddling), #49 (pink), #54 (blue), #60 (pink), #61 (brown), #62 (blue), #65 Dean (blue), #72 (pink), #74 (black), #80 (pink), #89, #90, #92, #93 (brown), #94 (2) #101, #102 (3), #104 (2), #107, #109, #112, #114, #116, #120 (6), #134 (Appling, brown), #130 Gehringer, #132, #135, #136 Hartnett, #144 Foxx, #145 Medwick (2), #147 (2), #149 Berg, #155, #157 Waner, #159, #162 (2), #164, #166, #168, #170, #173 Frisch, #176 (2), #177, #178, #179, #180 Jackson, #183 Cronin, #184 Bottomley (2), #185 Klein, #186 (4). 80 cards total.
