Michael "Kid" Madden was a nondescript pitcher who spent five years in three major leagues (National, Players and American Association) before sinking into the minor leagues and ultimately dying young of TB. This is his 288-6 pose and SGC has graded it as a 3.5 with a nicely developed image with Boston of the National League. Centering is up and to the right and some wear can be seen on the picture. The reverse has some foxing, heavier in some spots than others. This is a pleasing example of this pose, rendered somewhat poignant due to his early passing.
