Pair of fascinating signed documents addressed to Hall of Famer George Wright's doctor, Dr. George O'Meara. Dated January 17, 1934 the first letter is presented on Wright & Ditson letterhead (the company co-founded by George Wright) and has been typed by George Wright's son, Irving and signed at the bottom. After mention of his father's relocation to The Breakers in Palm Beach, FL it's clear the good doctor had requested a Cincinnati Red Stockings photo, a request which Irving denied due to "considerable trouble getting them back" from those with similar solicitations. The second and more significant letter has been penned by then 87-year-old George Wright on The Breakers letterhead, dated January 31, 1934 and bears his signature within the bottom third. Both documents present in excellent overall condition and include the original envelopes in which they were mailed. Irving Wright's letter measures a full 8.5" x 11" with George Wright's letter somewhat smaller at 5.75" x 9". Two historic pieces of memorabilia with direct connection to one of the single most influential figures the sport has known. Full LOA's from James Spence Authentication.
