Future soap opera star Johnny Berardino was an actor from an early age, showing up in some Our Gang shorts as a youngster and appearing in movies by 1947. Never a star in baseball, he did win a ring with the 1948 Indians before going into acting full time and 1952 was his last year playing ball. He was still with Cleveland before being shipped off to the Pirates late in the season and the 1952 Topps card seen here in the semi-high series has a little scuffing and a couple of minor corner hits, with pretty nice centering. The black ink signature is graded by PSA/DNA as a 9 and looks fabulous.
