Large and arresting framed photo of a woman ballplayer, presumably from Lenox, Massachusetts and taken in the 1890's, in an unusual wood grained matte and stained frame. A frosting effect has been applied to make the subject stand out prominently.  The matte and photo are in excellent shape, while the frame has been dinged up in spots. Framed dimensions of approx. 15" x 22".  An extraordinary piece, this photo was likely very expensive to produce and was clearly very important to its subject.  It is extremely rare to find a photo this large depicting an amateur ballplayer from this era.
