Identified in the American Card Catalog as H809-1, this cabinet card from the mid 1880's is from a series of cards that featured women and their athletic pursuits, clearly appealing more to prurient interests than athletic ones. The series is one of the earliest mainstream issues to feature women ballplayers and this card has a 3 7/8" x 5 3/8" image that is fairly well-contrasted and full of interesting detail. There is a left side hit on the approx. 4" x 6.5" mount that's cracked through to the edge of the photo and a couple of dots of foxing are visible.
