Virtually pristine 1953 Yankees official game program and printed scorecard. As the Yankees began their quest for a fifth consecutive World's Championship (which they would win) the cover art of their game program began to take a tone still familiar today: that of the legendary team and the legendary ballpark with multiple championship pennants touting their history. The 1953 Yankees featured Hall of Famers Whity Ford Yogi Berra Johnny Mize Phil Rizzuto and of course Mickey Mantle. Also on the roster were greats Hank Bauer Billy Martin Andy Carey Jerry Goleman Eddie Lopat Allie Reynolds and Vic Raschi. Note that the scorecard itself is detached from the program not because it has come loose but because it was printed separately folded and inserted as a centerfold.
