Uncommon 5" x 7" news service photos featuring the "sport" of auto polo. One example has been shot somewhere in and around Coney Island while the other has apparently been snapped at Hilltop Park (former home of the New York Highlanders), complete with individuals spilling out of their vehicles. An inspection of verso reveals a date stamp of Dec. 12, 1912, more than two months after the Highlanders played final game at the park on Oct. 5. This pair displays chipping to several corners but central images remain unaffected. George Grantham Bain credit stamps appear on verso of both photos with Culver Service stamping and Culver paper labels also present. Both are guaranteed as Type 1.
