In 1970, Topps broke their record for largest set, a 720-card behemoth loaded with stars and Hall of Famers from the era. The crisp, silver-gray borders are prone to chipping, though not as much as the black-bordered 1971 issue.  The cards are subject to the typical Topps quality control issues of the era, with centering and miscuts encountered frequently.  The set remains very popular today, due to the condition challenges and the player selection.

Presented here is an outstanding, higher-grade set, housed in a handsome binder and slipcase.  Though the technical grades are what one might call "mid grade," the cards are sharp, with little corner or edge wear.  The primary condition flaws here occurred at the factory, in the form of centering issues.  A technical breakdown, however, might be 2% NM-MT, 11% NM, 33% EX-MT, 38% EX, 14% VG-EX, 1% VG, and a few lesser.  The key cards would grade as follows: #10 Yastrzemski (G), #17 Wilhelm (EX), #140 Jackson (EX), #150 Killebrew (EX), #170 B. Williams (VG-EX), #189 Munson (EX), #210 Marichal (VG-EX), #220 Carlton (EX-MT), #230 B. Robinson (VG), #250 McCovey (EX), #290 Carew (VG-EX), #300 Seaver (VG-EX), #330 Brock (VG-EX), #350 Clemente (VG-EX), #403 Bunning (EX), #449 Palmer (VG-EX), #459 Jackson AS (VG-EX), #462 Aaron AS (VG), #470 Stargell (G), #500 Aaron (VG-EX), #530 Gibson (EX), #537 Morgan (VG-EX), #580 Rose (EX), #600 Mays (EX-MT), #700 F. Robinson (EX), #712 Ryan (VG-EX).  An outstanding ungraded set, higher in grade with superior eye appeal.  720 cards total.
