Wally Westlake started his career as a slugging outfielder for the Pirates in 1947. He had some serious pop but inexplicably his bat lost its magic after an All Star season in 1951. He hung around as a part-time player for another dozen years but never regained his old mojo. The 1952 Topps card holdered here has some really nice color 70+ years after issue and just a slight, slight tilt. The autograph in blue ballpoint is a very nice PSA/DNA MINT 9.
