The 1959 Topps issue is considered by collectors to be one of the most attractive of the 1950s designs; one of those sets that effectively reflects the graphic design sensibilities of the time when it was published. Featuring a host of Hall of Famers stars special cards and tough variations along with a difficult run of high numbers the 1959 set has long been popular among collectors driving up prices of high-grade sets and individual cards. Presented here is a collector-grade set needing just five cards for completion. Featuring the overwhelming majority of the issue's key cards this is by and large an attractive set with condition issues primarily relating to corners and edges along with the typical 1950s Topps centering issue. Cards missing are #202 Maris #545 Morgan #556 Fox All-Star #564 Mantle All-Star and #569 Friend All-Star - five easily located cards. A condition breakdown of the set is as follows: 14% EX or better; 31% VG-EX; 38% VG; 13% G; 4% lesser. A breakdown of the key cards is as follows: #10 Mickey Mantle (PSA VG-EX 4); #20 Duke Snider (VG-EX); #40 Warren Spahn (Born 1921 - VG/EX); #50 Willie Mays (VG); #150 Stan Musial (G-VG); #163 Sandy Koufax (VG/EX); #180 Yogi Berra (VG); #212 Aaron/Mathews (VG/EX); #300 Richie Ashburn (EX); #317 Ashburn/Mays (VG); #350 Ernie Banks (VG/EX); #360 Al Kaline (VG): #380 Hank Aaron (VG/EX); #430 Whitey Ford (VG); #435 Frank Robinson (VG); #439 Brooks Robinson (VG); #450 Eddie Mathews (VG); #478 Roberto Clemente (VG); #514 Bob Gibson (VG/EX); #515 Harmon Killebrew (VG); and #550 Roy Campanella (VG). This is a very clean collector-grade set with a number of significant cards missing just five for completion. Most of the hard work is done for you! One of the most popular issues in Topps' history. 567 cards total.
