1949 saw Joe DiMaggio make an appearance in a nationally distributed baseball card set, a somewhat rare occurrence during his playing career. Garish colors characterize the issue and you can see why on this SGC 1 graded specimen. Creasing and wear are evident, yet the front remains quite pleasing, with some corner rounding. The reverse has picked up a rambling red splotch here and there and is quite legible. This was Joe D's last major card issue, although he had two more seasons in him after 1949 concluded. His is a Hall-of-Fame presence in an historically significant set.
