The 1955 Topps All American issue was conceived to showcase, no surprise, former All-American college football players and in the process they created a legendary, star-studded set.  Jim Thorpe was an inspired selection and his recent passing (March 28, 1953) was still newsworthy when these card hit the streets. Graded SGC 4, an accumulation of uneven edging allows for the grade.  The color is bright, with the crimson portions looking especially sharp.
