This aged wooden crate from 70 years ago was built to house 24 bottles of “Ted’s Root Beer,” a popular soft drink produced by the Moxie Company in the 1950s and ‘60s that was promoted by legendary Boston Red Sox player Ted Williams. The crate measures 18" x 12" x 10 1/2" and includes its original branding that reads “TED’S ROOT BEER” on all four vertical sides with the two sides on either end reading “2 DOZEN 12 OZ” at the top and “THE MOXIE CO BOSTON, MASS” at the bottom. It was a roaring success when it was released with Williams as its pitchman. Includes two cutout openings for easy handling and shows wear from decades gone by but is in generally good condition overall.
