One of two original photographs in this auction hailing from the estate of Smoky Joe Wood. Likely taken prior to the Red Sox 1913 campaign, the team is pictured while training in Hot Springs, AK following one of the franchises most significant and historic seasons in 1912. Each player's face is clearly visible in this 6.5" x 8.5" photo that includes future Hall of Famers Harry Hooper and Tris Speaker, with each man bundled up in their cold weather attire. Blind stamping appears in the lower-right corner attributing the image to Boston based photographer Gus Williams. The upper-right corner has chipped away and verso remains blank save for small areas of dried adhesive, indicating the photo may have been removed from a mount or scrapbook. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
