Red Sun's are one of a loose subset of tobacco cards centered around producers in Louisiana. Issued in 1910 and solely portraying 75 players with the Southern Association, the fronts were coated with a gloss that has become quite brittle with the passage of time. This SGC 4 of Atlanta's Sid Smith has retained its gloss and is surpassed by only one card in their pop report, where a total of 6 examples have been graded (PSA has graded three with a 2 the best grade in their database). Border chipping is seen, as is some soiling, on an obverse with sweet centering. The Red Sun reverse is bright and richly red, looking about as nice as one can.
