Yet another in a long line of Yankees team artwork noting the multitude of World Championships won by the team during its history this one depicting the team as a band of knights conquering their American League opponents. Created by artist Joe Cauchi this poster was a pull-out supplement to an early 1980s Yankees yearbook or game program (at least that's how this writer recalls it as a poster just like this one was hanging in my bedroom when I was a youngster). This particular poster comes from the collection of a woman who has been an ardent baseball fan throughout her life collecting and maintaining an interesting assortment of memorabilia and autographs over the years. This particular poster has been signed at various times by a number of Yankees heroes notably Joe DiMaggio (HOF) and George Steinbrenner. Other names include Johnny Mize (HOF) Whitey Ford (HOF) former catcher Phil Lombardi former broadcaster Frank Messer and early 80s fan favorite Andre Robertson a promising young shortstop who broke his neck in a car accident in 1983 the night before the infamous Pine Tar game. There are two additional signatures both indecipherable. The poster itself is in VG/EX condition the primary condition issues being the wear at the folds of the poster where the poster was folded to fit into the yearbook. The color edges and surface remain as new. An excellent early 80s Yankees memento featuring some of the team's greatest players and an outstanding beginning to a much larger potential autograph project as there is plenty of room on the piece for additional signatures.
