Incredibly rare card of Indians pitcher Sam Jones, who enjoyed a 14-year career.  His finest season was 1959, where he posted a 21-15 record for the St. Louis Giants.  Nicknamed "Toothpick," Jones led the National League in strikeouts three times, no hitting the Pirates to become the first African American pitcher to throw a a no-hitter, blanking the Pirates 4-0 in a 1955 game.  Jones passed away at just 45 years old, in 1971, and as a result, his signature is difficult to find, particularly on baseball cards.  This is the only signed example to be assessed by PSA/DNA, the signature applied diagonally and upside down in the powder blue background behind Jones' face.
