Incredible pre-rookie era image of future pro basketball Hall of Famer, Oscar Robertson captured from above by photographer William Whittaker. At 6' 5" the NCAA star, Robertson led his University of Cincinnati Bearcats to an overall record of 79-9 over three seasons spanning 1957-60. Often regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time, Robertson helped the US secure a gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics, was the NBA Rookie of the Year in 1961, and later an NBA Champion with the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks. A touch of wear is present to the corners of this photo with an area of discoloration towards the top of verso where very light toning is also apparent towards the edges. William Whittaker's personal credit stamp appears in black with handwritten notations in ballpoint towards the lower-left corner.
