July 17, 1945 letter from Edward J. Flanagan, the Catholic priest based in Nebraska who founded the orphanage known as Boys Town, and who was portrayed by Spencer Tracy in the 1938 film of the same name. The letter was sent to Bill Skiff, then the manager of the Seattle Rainiers but who lived in New York, thanking him for being an Honorary Citizen of Boys Town. The well-written letter was signed by Flanagan. In VG condition, Flanagan-signed documents are in high demand, particularly among collectors of religious ephemera, but in this case has a relationship with baseball as well.
