On April 24, 1962 future Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax took the mound against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field and equaled one of the most significant moments of his career. Over 144 total pitches Koufax recorded 18 strikeouts on his way to a 6-hit, 10-2 complete game victory for visiting Los Angeles. Koufax struck out nine of the first ten batters he faced, laying the groundwork for matching the 18-strikeout feat he first achieved on August 31, 1959. A wide shot depicting Koufax mid-windup during this historic game, the presented original photograph remains bold and clear with crisp white borders. An ID of Koufax written on verso appears at center along with a PSA sticker to the lower-right. A date stamp from April 25, 1962, one day after the game, sits towards the lower-left corner. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
