Attractive card of popular 19th Century outfielder Billy Sunday, who famously left baseball to become a Midwestern preacher, eventually becoming the country's most famous evangelist. As a ballplayer, Sunday hit .248 in 8 major league seasons, stealing 246 bases (including 84 in 1890). His card, graded GOOD 2 by PSA, is classified as pose 446-1 in the book The Photographic Baseball Cards of Goodwin & Company (1886-1890) and appears to have a strong image with reasonable contrast for the issue. Wear at the corners keeps the card from a higher holder, as does some light surface soiling along with a few minor stains on the reverse.
