Second-year card of underrated Hall of Famer Rod Carew. As a rookie in 1967, Carew batted .292, capturing Rookie of the Year honors. His sophomore season was a bit off, as his average dropped to .273. Beginning in 1969, however, Carew rattled off a string of 15 consecutive .300 seasons, reaching .388 and winning the MVP in 1977. Ultimately he finished his career with 3,053 hits and a lifetime batting average of .328, one of the greatest players of his era.
