Wonderful original news service photograph of Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates great, Hazen Shirley "KiKi" Cuyler. Cuyler is posed on the sidelines at Wrigley Field approximately two weeks prior to the start of the 1929 World Series where the Cubs would meet Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1968, Cuyler was a World Series Champion with the 1925 Pirates and concluded his 18-year career from 1921-38 with a .321 batting average, good enough for 42nd all-time. Photo measures 6" x 7.5" and remains in Excellent overall condition. A small paper caption is affixed to verso partially obscuring Wide World credit stamping and same waviness is present, typical of news service photos of the era.
