Frank "Spec" Shea didn't wear glasses and got his nickname due to his freckled skin.  Also known as the "Naugatuck Nugget", he was an effective starting pitcher for the 1947 Yankees, garnering a ring in that year's World Series where he won two games. He stumbled after that and was demoted for 1950 but bounced back and won another World Series with the Yanks as a swingman.  He was traded to the Senators very early in 1952.  His Topps card from that year, as shown here, has some L-R centering issues, but nice, bold colors. His signature in black Sharpie, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC, is a dandy.
