That Gil Coan, a fleet left fielder who spent the majority of his eleven year major league career in Washington, was not known for his bat, does not make the picture on his semi-high 1952 Topps card any less striking. The dark stadium background is wonderfully composed, the contemplative look is classic and the composition makes stellar use of the horizontal format. A nice looking card is seen here, with some minor corner touches and a little roughness along the short left side. The PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC autograph is well rendered in blue, signed in the light area of the photo created by the aforementioned bat.
