Tigers manager Red Rolfe was the Yankees Third Baseman during a dynastic period from the mid 1930's until the early 1940's that saw him play with Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio, just to name two all-time greats. His 1952 Topps card captured him in his final season as Detroit's skipper and the semi-high number example seen here is a sweet one, with just a modicum of corner wear.  Rolfe signed the card in blue ink across his breast.  Interestingly, the card reverse was signed by a different "Red" - Hall of Fame pitcher Red Ruffing.  Both signatures have been authenticated by PSA/DNA here, noted under the same cert number.

Red Rolfe passed away in 1969 from kidney disease, at the young age of 60.  His early passing makes signed examples of his cards extremely difficult; PSA/DNA has authenticated just eight examples of his '52 Topps card, among the lowest population of the entire set.
