A sure-handed third baseman hailing from Staten Island, Hank Majeski began playing pro ball with the Class D Eau Claire Bears of the Northern League in 1935. He hit the majors with the Braves in 1939, ended up in the Yankees organization in the middle of the 1941 season but only saw brief action with the big league squad in 1946 after three years in the Coast Guard during World War 2. The Athletics bought his contract that year and he spent four seasons in Philly, was traded to the White Sox, was traded back to the A's as seen on his 1952 Topps card, then continued bouncing around until retiring in 1955. His nickname was Heeney, and he's signed here as such, PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC, with some fading seen.
