Carl Scheib labored through eleven seasons on the mound with the Athletics, before a three game stint with the Cardinals to cap his big league career went poorly and he sank to the PCL and minors at the ripe old age of 27. This was due to Scheib debuting in 1943 at age 16 as the youngest player in American League history. A little corner rounding does not detract form the warm red background of this 1952 Topps card, with a blue ink autograph that's got a little smudge at the start, encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA.
