Fred Koster was able to manage one season in the majors with the 1931 Phillies. During that time he hit .225 in limited duty as a part-time outfielder. He toiled in the minors for ten seasons bouncing from city to city and accumulating a .298 career batting average. For the 1934 St. Paul Saints he hit .312 with 23 doubles and it is with that team that he is depicted here on his scarce 1933-34 Worch Cigar card. Graded GOOD 30 by SGC the card appears EX to EX-MT but is marred by the number "286 " written lightly in pencil on the reverse.
