Some creative young artist in 1952 decided he didn't want to see Bob Cain traded away from the White Sox and took matters into his own hands by whiting out both his cap designation and team logo and replacing them with that of the Pale Hose. Cain actually went to Detroit in May of 1951 before the Tigers traded him to the Browns, where he was captured by Topps in the '52 high numbers. Inscribed with Best Wishes from Cain, the PSA/DNA grade of NM-MT 8 recognizes a fine blue ballpoint signature. A common card, the autograph renders it extraordinarily rare - PSA's population report shows just three examples.
