Elected to the Hall of Fame in 1945 "Orator" Jim O'Rourke was thusly named because of his penchant for verbosity. Over the course of a 23-year career he amassed a .310 lifetime batting average with 8 teams primarily in the National League. The card number 358-2 has been graded VG 40 by SGC due largely to staining on the reverse likely from glue as the card was almost surely mounted at some point in a scrapbook. The image quality is very good perhaps a little light on the contrast but still very clear. An outstanding example of a 19th Century Hall of Famer that while not scarce (relatively speaking) is certainly not seen as often as many others in the issue. Population Data SGC Population: 56 total graded 6 at this level 16 higher* PSA Population: 4 total graded 1 at this level 3 higher *Please note that SGC does not differentiate between pose variations on N172 cards so this figure represents all the Jim O'Rourke N172s they have graded regardless of pose.
