I have one to sell!
Stunning high-grade example of Hall of Famer Fred Clarke's "Holding Bat" variation graded NM 84 by SGC. The card is razor sharp with a clean image and spectacular clarity only slight corner touches keeping the card from grading higher. Clean high-grade T206 Hall of Famers are things of beauty and this card is no exception. This is the highest graded example of this card known with a Piedmont back; two examples of the "holding bat" variety of this card have been graded NM 8 by PSA and another MINT 9 each classified as "unknown back." The "unknown back" designation refers to cards graded by PSA prior to that company's recognizing back varieties on their grading labels - an issue that makes characterizing cards like this difficult since either of the two NM Fred Clarke cards or the MINT example could conceivably have a Piedmont back. It is of course likely that at least one of them is given the population of Piedmont-backed T206 cards. The Sweet Caporal pop report for this card registers two examples graded NM 8 as well. Regardless of the conjecture the card is fantastic a well-cared for high-grade anomaly with wonderful eye appeal. Population Data SGC Population: 57 total graded 1 at this level 0 higher PSA Population: 164 total graded 3 at this level 0 higher* *Please note that PSA just recently began to differentiate between T206 back variations in their population reports so it is entirely possible that other examples of this card may have been graded by PSA and classified in their pop reports as "unknown back."
