Graded a 3 by PSA, this stub granted admission to Fenway Park for Game 5 of the 1946 World Series, a 6-3 Red Sox victory. The 1946 affair was a tightly contested series that featured an injured Ted Williams making the only World Series appearance of his career. Unfortunately for the Sox, the St. Louis Cardinals ultimately settled things with a 4-3 victory in Game 7 at Sportsman's Park. It was the Red Sox first appearance in a World Series since Babe Ruth famously anchored the staff against the Chicago Cubs in the 1918 Fall Classic, and was the first World Series following the end of World War 2. Attractive ticket exhibits softened corners and very light wear around the edges. What appears to be a small bit of scuffing is present on reverse along the right side.
