Interesting photo of what appears to be a youth baseball team likely from either Panama or Cuba (both countries contain areas called "Almirante" - in Bocas del Toro Panama and also in Holguin Cuba. Either way the "Almirante Giants" won their league"s baseball championship in 1927/28.The photo depicts the 17-member team posed in front of some palm trees in uniform (shirts and pinstriped pants) along with a variety of equipment - bats gloves and catchers gear. While the image displays very well in its frame it has some significant damage with several cuts across the surface of the photo including one that interferes with the face of the player in the back row extreme right. Still an attractive piece relating to early baseball outside the United States.
