Brunners was one of five brands of bread made by the General Baking Company of Buffalo, New York. Rife with variations, the set didn't get a rise out of the collectors of the day and is considered scarce.  You'll search in vain for Mike Kelly but if you look for Billy Kelly you will find a catcher who played sparingly from 1910-13, primarily for the Pirates.  One of a handful of relative unknowns in a set replete with hall-of-famers and big names, his inclusion is curious as he never lived or played in Buffalo.

Assigned a catalog number of D304 by Jefferson Burdick, the cards are colorful if somewhat fanciful.  This example show some corner wear and a couple of not-too-intrusive small creases, with wonderful pastel colors and a really nice reverse extolling the virtues of Brunner's Butter Krust Bread and some strange association with Buster Brown, let alone an apparent numbering scheme that defies logic.
