Chicago based Leaf's colorful but erratic 1949 set is the second major issue of 1949, competing with Bowman's expanded set that year. Four Hall-of-Famers are offered here and it's a group of cards that has seen some misfortune. Phil Rizzuto has sustained an oil stain or something similar that sweeps up from the lower left corner. Luke Appling has fared better, despite some hard-to-starboard centering and some dirt showing. Johnny Mize has some wear to the front surface and some dirt as well, with Ralph Kiner also needing to wash up.
The reverses all have small areas of paper loss, save Kiner, who has some has some red blotches of stain showing. This is a low grade lot with high powered players and a chance to knock 4 big names off your want list. Four cards total.
