Interesting mounted W601 Sporting Life premium from the 1905 folio featuring the St. Louis Browns, including a young Bobby Wallace (HOF), manager Jimmy McAleer, and pitcher Barney Pelty.  This premium originates from the family of Pelty, who consigned a number of postcards and memorabilia to this auction.  The premium has been trimmed to the border and mounted on cardboard, the mount hand-cut with considerable chipping and tears at the right edge.  Grading POOR, the premium itself exhibits several tears and staining.  The appeal to this piece is its provenance, an opportunity to own a keepsake saved for more than a century by a deadball era pitcher, one of the first Jewish major leaguers, and his family.
