This ticket stub is one of a complete run of stubs from every New York Yankees/Brooklyn Dodgers World Series game being offered in this auction.  We invite you to view our printed catalog or visit our e-book catalog online at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/961320424/ to read an excellent article on the crosstown rivalry written by SABR president Mark Armour.

With the Yankees on the ropes in a "must win" game, Casey Stengel sent Whitey Ford to the mound, and he delivered a masterpiece, giving up just one run in a complete game victory, surrendering four hits and walking four, striking out 8 in the Yankees' 5-1 win.  Moose Skowron drove in three runs with a home run, the Yankees squeezing out an injury with the injured Mickey Mantle on the bench.

Presented here is an attractive pair of ticket stubs from this game, including the following: 1) Lower Stand Box Section 12: Attractive stub exhibits some mild surface wear and staining, along with edge wear consistent with a GOOD grade.  2) Lower Stand Box 21: Clean stub with some mild wrinkling along the perforated bottom edge resulting in some very light paper loss.  Stub also exhibits some very light wrinkling in the yellow area at the right of the ticket, from top to bottom.  Still, extremely strong eye appeal, likely VG or GOOD+ in the grading room.  Two stubs total.
