Collector-grade complete set of 1969 Topps basketball.  A "tall boy" set issued at the very onset of basketball's national popularity and one of the most important postwar basketball issues.  Distributed in 10-card packs along with a pin-up insert, each card features the player's image inset into a colorful background, which is, in turn, inset into a white border.  The result is a beautifully attractive issue filled with stars, Hall of Famers and rookie cards.  The key card is the rookie card of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Lew Alcindor).  This set grades approximately 8% VG/EX, 19% VG, 41% GOOD, 25% FAIR, and 7% POOR, with the primary condition flaws relating to handling, in the form of corner wear, wrinkles and creases.  We submitted eight cards to SGC for grading, which, along with the other keys, grade as follows: #1 Chamberlain (SGC GOOD 2), #2 Goodrich (SGC GOOD+ 2.5), #10 Thurmond (G), #12 Johnson (P), #15 Hawkins (F), #20 Havlicek (SGC VG+ 4.5), #25 Alcindor (SGC FR 1.5), #35 Baylor (P), #38 Rodgers (VG), #40 Cunningham (G), #43 Bradley (P), #44 Wilkens (G), #45 Lucas (G), #50 Robertson (SGC VG/EX 4), #55 Bing (VG), #56 Unseld (VG/EX), #60 Reed (G), #75 Hayes (SGC VG/EX+ 4.5), #80 Monroe (VG), #82 Nelson (G), #84 Greer (F), #85 DeBusschere (G), #90 West (SGC GOOD 2), #95 Bellamy (G), #98 Frazier (SGC VG 3), Checklist (P - marked).  An affordable example of one of the most important postwar basketball sets, containing the rookie card of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.  99 cards total.
