On the night before his 37th birthday, a capacity crowd of more than 30,000 Dodgers fans crowded into Ebbets Field to pay tribute to the best shortstop the organization ever had. Six wagonloads of gifts were brought to the plate, Reese was given a new car, Chock Full o' Nuts baked a 250-pound birthday cake. He received a freezer filled with 200 pounds of food, and in the middle of the fifth, the lights were dimmed and the fans struck matches or lighters and sang "Happy Birthday" to their hero.
Presented here is a ticket stub from that game (an 8-4 Dodgers win in which Reese would go 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored). GOOD condition with little obvious wear aside from two staple holes at the upper-right and some light creasing as well as the irregular tear at the perf, the light green ticket presents well, an outstanding stub from the night Ebbets Field hosted 33,000 Dodgers fans to honor their hero.
