Exceptional original press photo of George Herman Ruth displaying his pepper technique at the ballpark. Not necessarily known for his bunting ability, Ruth is squaring up to offer at an incoming baseball – a unique look at the Babe we are not accustomed to seeing. Photo boasts near-perfect tonal contrast and remains in excellent overall condition though a crease runs along the left side of this example and two pinholes appear towards the lower-left edge. Remnants of a paper tag are affixed to verso which also displays handwritten notations with large Wide World Photos stamping at bottom. Measures approx. 5" x 7".
