Here's a tremendous-looking example of the very popular 1938 Goudey Heads Up Joe DiMaggio card. Issued with and without the cartoon illustrations surrounding the player in 1938, this version happily includes them and all for the better. Featuring some of the nicest corners you might ever see on a PSA 3, this example remains bright and the toothsome and colorful Joe D. floating head pose is crystal clear. The reverse, with it's empty promise of 312 Baseball Stars (this series bizarrely picked up the numbering from the 1933 set yet still failed to fully deliver!) is another in-grade winner. Consigned from an original owner collection, the card is simply fantastic, as nice a PSA 3 as you will ever see, the NM appearance of the card marred only by light wrinkles in the paper above Gehrig's bat barrel, flaws that likely existed when the card was manufactured and not the result of wear or handling.
