Issued by the Worch Cigar Company of St. Paul, MN, this rare postcard-sized issue utilized photos which appeared in the Minneapolis Star and St. Paul Dispatch newspapers. Though the cards do not mention the Worch company anywhere on them, they were distributed by mail in Worch Cigar envelopes, hence their name. The cards are found in multiple styles with player names either printed or in the background, with or without a team name in a white or black box. They are typically not found in high grade, and the cards are fairly difficult to locate. SGC has graded just two Hornsby cards, both at the EX 5 level. Corner wear is really the sole flaw keeping this example from a higher holder, most pronounced at the bottom-right. The surface is clean and bright, with virtually no toning.
