Few prewar cards in the hobby have been the beneficiary of the recent boom than the red background portrait card of Ty Cobb from the T206 issue.  Certainly one of the more common "key" cards in the set, demand for the card seemingly knows no bounds, regardless of condition.  Presented here is an extremely attractive collector-grade example, with a rich, red background and a tougher Polar Bear reverse.  A crease running across the card at Cobb's shoulders contributes to the grade, as do the ubiquitous Polar Bear tobacco stains on the reverse.  A small spot of paper loss in the back is also a factor.  Regardless, an extremely popular card, one of the most sought-after in the entire T206 issue.
