Complete 1963 Jell-O boxes are not often seen, so this grouping of four is quite the sight. Presented here are no. 38 Al Smith (White Sox), no. 92 Haywood Sullivan (Athletics), no. 118 Duke Snider (Dodgers-HOF) and no. 139 Dick Groat (Pirates). The three 3 oz. varieties have all been stabilized with after market shrink wrap and vary in appearance, with Snider unfortunately the worst of the lot with some staining present. The Smith box is better, despite some obvious handling and the Groat looks to be the best of the bunch. Sullivan is a harder-to-find 6 oz. box that has some fairly heavy creasing but these are practically impossible to find, especially with the powder mix still inside. Full boxes are rarely offered at auction these days and to find multiple examples in one lot is rarer still. PSA requires boxes submitted for grading to be flattened so these are no doubt part of a dying breed.
