Beautiful left-handed J.C. Higgins model 1679 fielder's glove, dating approximately to the 1930s and endorsed by Grover Cleveland Alexander.  Right-handed model is constructed of clean, supple leather, with original buttons and piping intact, a few light surface abrasions visible here and there.  Glove appears to have been replaced at the wrist strap at some point.  Brands in the palm are clean and legible, the leather a deep, reddish-brown.  An outstanding item, endorsed by one of the greatest pitchers of all-time.
