Introduced in 1950 and sold at the Hall of Fame, these cards were initially issued as a 62-card boxed set featuring illustrations by artist Mario DeMarco, picturing members of the Hall. Over the ensuing five years, updates were created for each new member of the Hall. As a result, cards from those updates are considered more scarce than the original boxed set and the entire set is considered to be complete at 82 cards. We believe this boxed set to contain the original 62 cards, though we cannot verify that without opening the box. The box has clearly been opened in the past, the seals and tabs are worn and loose and to our knowledge, an unopened set would reveal the image of the Hall showing through the die-cut box window, as opposed to Wilbert Robinson, whose image we can see. The box itself appears in G-VG condition, with obviously worn edges and flaps. A wonderful collectible and an amazing vintage "tribute" set containing the greatest players the game had seen up until that point.
