W601 team composite picturing the 1905 Chicago Cubs who finished 92-61-2 that season, good enough for 3rd in the National League. 13" x 14" piece features nineteen members of the club, including Hall of Famers Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Frank Chance, and Mordecai "Three Finger" Brown. Much of this squad was the genesis for the Cubs pennant winning season of 1906 and their World Series championship seasons of 1907 and 1908. This example does suffer from a curled lower-right corner and the rop-right corner exhibits soft wear.
NOTE: Though there is inconsistency in the hobby as to the dating of this issue, we have elected to follow the guidance of the Standard Catalog, which lists the date as 1905.
