Yankee Stadium ticket stub from the opening game of the 1949 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers. An outstanding pitcher's duel between Don Newcombe and Allie Reynolds, Newcombe scattered five hits and struck out 11, while Reynolds gave up just two hits. In the bottom of the ninth, Tommy Henrich, leading off, hit the first walk-off home run in World Series history, giving the Yankees the 1-0 win. An irregular tear at the perf and some wrinkling, notably along the top edge but also visible elsewhere upon close inspection, reduces the technical grade of the ticket to GOOD, though the color and print quality is exceptional regardless.
